Checking the Pulse: Q3 at Reflow Medical
Q3 brought important developments for Reflow Medical, including a New Technology Add-on Payment for the Spur® Peripheral Retrievable Stent System, clinical data presentations, physician education, and first cases in Brazil and Vietnam. Behind every congress, case, and data slide is a patient hoping to keep walking. We’re grateful for every mile and milestone.
Regulatory & Product Milestones
CMS Grants NTAP for Spur
On September 1, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services granted the Spur Stent System a New Technology Add-on Payment (NTAP), providing eligible Fee-for-Service Medicare inpatient cases an incremental payment of up to $2,596.75 beginning October 1, 2026. “This is an important milestone for Spur and for our continued efforts to support physicians treating patients with infrapopliteal arterial disease, a population with significant unmet clinical needs,” said Isa Rizk, CEO and Co-Founder of Reflow Medical.
Clinical Data & Trials
Long-Term Evidence: 4-Year DEEPER OUS Data Presented at AMP
At AMP 2026 in Boston, Marianne Brodmann, MD presented 4-year follow-up data from the DEEPER OUS trial, the longest follow-up on the Spur platform to date. Freedom from clinically driven target lesion revascularization (CD-TLR) held at 84.5% through four years, with no new events after year two. Freedom from major amputation was 96.6% at four years, with no new amputations between years three and four.
Right Data, Right Room: DEEPER REVEAL Returns to AMP
On September 1, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services granted the Spur Stent System a New Technology Add-on Payment (NTAP), providing eligible Fee-for-Service Medicare inpatient cases an incremental payment of up to $2,596.75 beginning October 1, 2026. “This is an important milestone for Spur and for our continued efforts to support physicians treating patients with infrapopliteal arterial disease, a population with significant unmet clinical needs,” said Isa Rizk, CEO and Co-Founder of Reflow Medical.
First Patient Enrolled in DEEPER CHALLENGE
The Medical University of Graz enrolled the first patient in DEEPER CHALLENGE, a trial examining early vessel recoil following Spur and drug-coated balloon (DCB) treatment in two populations often underrepresented in chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) research, despite facing some of the highest risks for restenosis and limb-threatening ischemia: patients with diabetes and patients with end-stage renal disease. Women, who are also often underrepresented in clinical research, will make up at least 50% of each cohort.
Physician Education & Scientific Exchange
CIRSE 2026: Peer-to-Peer Insight Sharing and DEEPER REVEAL’s 12-Month Data Presented in Europe
At CIRSE 2026 in Copenhagen, Reflow hosted two peer-to-peer insight sharing sessions on treating complex BTK CLTI, led by Daniel van den Heuvel, MD, and Maria Antonella Ruffino, MD while Kumar Madassery, MD presented 12-month DEEPER REVEAL outcomes to a European audience for the first time.
CORS/Vasc at the Shore: Regional Setting, Leading Voices
CORS/Vasc at the Shore blended an intimate regional setting with nationally recognized cardiovascular leaders, joined by fellows and younger physicians. The relaxed atmosphere provided valuable opportunities for discussion and knowledge sharing. Reflow Medical sponsored a breakfast symposium moderated by Sahil Parikh, MD. Case presentations from Nick Petruzzi, MD; Ramzan Zakir, MD; and S. Jay Mathews, MD, MS, drew an enthusiastic response. A lively Q&A, with active participation from emerging physicians, showed growing excitement about Spur.
Hands-On Learning: Cora Flex and Cora Force at Interventional Complications 2026
Reflow Medical led a hands-on Coronary CTO Device workshop at Interventional Complications 2026, hosted by the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) in Seattle, giving physicians the chance to work directly with our next-generation CoraFlex® and CoraForce® torqueable microcatheters in navigating complex coronary anatomy.
Spur in Clinical Practice
First Spur Case in Brazil
Rodrigo Marcondes, MD and the team at Hospital Rede D’Or Osasco, São Paulo, successfully performed the first Spur case in Brazil, in combination with DCB therapy for a patient with CLTI. Thank you to Dr. Marcondes and the team for sharing their first experience with Spur, and to our local partner Eurogreen for their on-site collaboration and support.
First Spur Case in Vietnam
Teams at E Hospital, Bach Mai Hospital, Hanoi Medical University, and 108 Hospital in Hanoi successfully performed their first cases using Retrievable Scaffold Therapy (RST) with the Spur System, as part of a physician proctor training focused on advanced CLTI and BTK treatment strategies. Thank you to Bruno Migliara, MD, for sharing his clinical expertise during the training, and to our partner Angeion Medical for the collaboration.
Real-World Results: Dr. Vargas Shares Two Spur Stent Case Reports
Andres Vargas Estrada, MD shared two case reports using RST with Spur in patients with CLTI and heavily calcified lesions, adding two more real-world examples to the growing body of physician-shared experience with the device.
